In this episode we talk to Pinar Akiskalioglu, founder of TAKK about Personal Care and the impact on us and the environment of the status quo.
An industry that has grown continually since its emergence in the mid 50s the Personal Care market has long thrived on creating new, unnecessary products and selling them by creating confusion and insecurity. Pinar spent years working inside the industry before deciding to return to her entrepreneurial roots by setting up TAKK.
TAKK is built on a platform of removing microdecisions from our daily lives so we can invest more time and energy into problems that matter. The challenge in the model is working out how to build an economically sustainable business without resorting to the tactics and levers that define the status quo.
Pinar also breaks down for us the importance of subscription models in unlocking innovation beyond the product (eg packaging, shipping, overall impact etc)
